Ghana zooms past Panama

The Black stars of Ghana whipped the Los Canaleros of Panama in the FIFA 2026 World Cup tournament in Toronto, late June 17, 2026.
The Shinning Stars of Africa, in their characteristics and nerve-wracking lackadaisical approach started the game as if there was nothing significance at stake.
However, Carlos Queiroz, the 73-year Portuguese tactician, appointed coach of the Black Stars in mid-April 2026, brought his extensive experience in the World Cup and made much needed changes in the second half. His changes propped up the dimming stars and paid off big time.
Fatawu Fatawu Issahaku, a prominent winger of the relegated Leicester City in the Premier League, Kwasi Sibo, a midfielder of Real Oviedo and Brandon Thomas Asante, a striker of Coventry City, among others, brought in vigor and much needed aggressiveness in the attacking machinery.
The result was a brilliant effort by Thomas-Asante from the left side and an equally brilliant effort by the hitherto, yellow-carded Yirenkyi who against all odds slotted in the ball in stoppage time of the second half.
The Black Stars of Ghana face the Three lions of England on June 23, in Boston, MA.
If today’s game is anything to go by, the Black Stars faces herculean tasks against their next two opponents.
