A New Jersey doctor embarks on a solo mission

Dr.Yaw Ofori-Behome a medical doctor in the United States recently embarked on a medical mission to his native country of Ghana to help out with the needy. The New Jersey-based board certified family physician with practices in South Amboy and Newark embarked on the one-man project after persistent questions and enquiries from his weekly radio program on HOTFM, one of several leading radio stations in Accra, Ghana.

On this maiden project, Dr. Ofori-Behome examined over 230 people over a 12-hour period with diverse health conditions. In a post event interview Dr. Ofori-Behome says he plans to visit and examine potential patients quarterly and with a view to extending the exercise to all ten regions of Ghana. He said it is at least a small contribution to help improve the lifestyle and health of thosethat cannot afford the cost of healthcare in his native country.

Dr. Ofori –Behome has invited his colleagues that are not yet involved in such free ventures to come on board in order to make a major impact on the lives of the less fortunate.
The event was organized by HOT FM, an Accra based mother ship radio station 93.9
