Angola: Investigation Shows More Fish in Sea

Luanda — Preliminary results of a fishing investigation held in March, on the Angolan sea, show that there is more fish than in the previous year, a source with the sector has announced.

This was said by the technical director of the National Institute of Fishing Investigation (Inip), Filomena Vaz Coelho.

She announced it during the visit of the minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Afonso Pedro Canga, to the Norwegian boat, Dr. Fridtjof Nansen that has been supporting the investigation.

The expert also said that the investigation is in a preliminary stage, as the results must be well analyzed and published later.

“From the environment perspective, this year was considered as normal in matters of climate and salt, against the previous year regarded as very hot, also called as El Nino”, she explained. – Angola Press
