The Hotel that never sleeps in Kumasi

When the sun sets at the Sunset Hotel in Kumasi, it gives way to moonlit nights that never seem to set, bustling with activities at the seams. Tucked in the suburb of Danyame, the “one stop shop” facility is a 3-Star, 56-bedroom hotel, with a bar and restaurant, conference and banquet halls, and a gymnasium. It also boasts of a free continental breakfast, high speed WI-FI, a sizable swimming pool of 1,500 sq ft, a large open space for dancing with about 3000 seating capacity anchored on sturdy chairs, and a lighting system that enhances the beauty of the facility. The lighting system around the swimming pool creates an atmosphere of peaceful reflection over chilled drinks.

According to the hotel manager Ms. Nancy Brago Akwaboah, the 10-year-old business is much livelier after sunset, when revelers throng to the place to relax and reflect after a hard day’s work and challenges of that come with working in the second largest city in Ghana. Friday and Saturday evenings are exclusively special with live band performances by the Resident band, Sunset Extra “O.” The band starts at approximately 7:00 p.m. and belts out contemporary tunes and sounds of yesteryears deep into the night. The near-perfect and quality of sound from the band is a magnetic pull to the dance floor. Security is around the clock and alert, stepping in instantly to keep the peace when the need arises.
