Dr. (Mrs). Diana Heymann Adu (pictured left) was over the weekend awarded The Most Outstanding Female Media Practitioner at the first ever Feminine Achievement Awards ceremony in Accra.
The event which was put together by the Business Executive Magazine was tailored to recognize and reward women who have led exemplary lives. The other objective is to award women who can boast of outstanding achievements.
A citation accompanying the award read’ One of very few Doctorate degree holders in International Journalism in this part of our world, you have been a trailblazer, having been the first ever female executive of radio in Ghana, and have been training journalists at the Ghana institute of journalism for nearly three decades now.’
The citation continues, ‘since founding the Gender Awareness Foundation which is now the National Woman’s Forum, you have empowered woman media practitioners by providing them with invaluable skills training and refresher courses. This has cumulated in international exchanges between African Women journalists, enabling them to exchange ideas and network.’
